With approaching nearly 30 years experience in the stock markets, Richard understands the market from a retail investor, analyst and fund manager perspective being employed in the latter two capacities and being active in the former for much of the last 30 years.  

As well as managing private client portfolios in the North of England, he also held the role of fund manager with specific responsibility for the Emerging Markets, Scandinavian and selected European regions at one of the UK’s largest local authority pensions funds. Funds under his control at that time approached half a billion pounds. More latterly he was the founder and Managing Director of Peregrine Asset Management, exiting this business in December 2015 in order to focus exclusively upon the opportunity at Align. 

Richard was the catalyst behind the creation of Align Research and co-founder of the business and is qualified to RDR Level (4) standard.
